Cristiano Ronaldo is the current top scorer of both Real Madrid and La Liga with 28 goals thus far, but for some of his club’s fans this is not sufficient.
Despite having opened the scoring in a 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo was subjected to abuse from some of the Real Madrid supporters for selfish play when he could have passed to a fellow teammate.
Real manager Carlo Ancelotti was left bemused the fans’ reaction and jumped to his star’s defence:
“I have always said that sometimes I understand whistles because they can be deserved. Right now? No, the players are putting in a lot of effort,” commented the italian, “booing Cristiano makes no sense.”
