A massive match takes place on Tuesday in Costa Rica as Mexico, who have struggled throughout their World Cup qualification campaign, know that they must avoid defeat or they could be out of Brazil 2014 even before it started.
Should Mexico fail to get the result they need, El Tri will miss out on the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
A draw or a win will guaranteed Mexico a two-legged playoff against New Zealand, while a defeat could see Mexico pipped by Panama should they beat the already qualified United States.
Amid such high stakes, a small band of Costa Rica fans have demonstrated just how fevered tensions are ahead of kick off by dressing a skeleton in a Mexico shirt and hanging the corpse out of a coffin covered in a Mexican flag.
