Drogheda United 1 – Dynamo Kiev 2 (Champions League qualifier, July 29, 2008) Dynamo took the lead through Taris Mikhalik in the 23rd minute. Adam Hughes headed Drogheda level just after the break, but Oleksandr Aliev cut in from the left to fire a fine winner with five minutes to go.

AC Milan 2* – Juventus 2 (Pens. 4-2) (Trofeo Tim, July 29, 2008) On seven minutes Clarence Seedorf put the Rossoneri ahead with a howitzer of a strike, Juve hit back with quick goals from Trezeguet and Marchionni. (The first three goals of the game can be seen here.) Three minutes before the end of the game (which was only 45 minutes long) Seedorf equalised to take the game to penalties.
