With the bad memories from the 2009 Champions League semi-final combined with Barcelona’s awesome reputation and incredible players at their disposal, it will come as some comfort that at least one Chelsea striker has previous for scoring against Barcelona.
Daniel Sturridge, who in truth is unlikely to start for Chelsea this evening, notched the winner for Manchester City in a match against Barcelona at the Nike Premier Cup in the summer of 2004.
The now Chelsea forward lashed in at the back post when left all alone and then proceeded to produce a ridiculous celebration.
Manchester City, led by top goal scorer Daniel Sturridge, won the Under-14 tournament, held at Old Trafford, winning the final against their great rivals Manchester United.
In the footage below, uncovered by the official Barcelona YouTube channel, Sturridge talks of his uncle Dean Sturridge, the former Derby striker.
