Why Chelsea, Man United & Man City are interested: All of Eden Hazard’s 20 goals & 15 assists in 2011/2012
For some time now, Eden Hazard has been a tease.
(UPDATE: An hour after this article was posted, Hazard tweeted: “Good afternoon guys. i made up my mind. see you later. thanks.”)
We know he wants to join a Premier League club but the Belgian playmaker has avoided confirming which one and according to the transfer gossips it is down to three.
Heavyweights Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are keen on the Lille schemer and Hazard is expected to make his announcement after Belgium’s match with England at Wembley on Saturday.
Leaving aside the fact Hazard is continuing to gain maximum exposure with the decision coming after England’s final friendly before Euro 2012, most fans of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City will be somewhat at a loss about the Belgian.
Hazard is a class act. Just 21-years-old, he has been named Ligue 1 player of the year for successive seasons and led Lille to the title in 2010/2011.
The latest transfer news is that Hazard is most likely to join Chelsea or Manchester United with City unwilling to give Hazard the assurances he is looking for.
With the wages on offer at Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford and the Etihad, Hazard is reportedly weighing up other considerations. Including, whether he will be first choice at his new team and play in the number 10 position.
Patrice Evra has urged Hazard to join Manchester United: “I’m not his father but, if he comes to Manchester, I assure him that he will win titles. That’s if he joins my Manchester, not the Blue side.”
The smart money should probably be on Chelsea. The Champions League winners can offer Hazard the playing demands and salary, whilst City are unlikely to agree to the former and United could struggle to compete with the latter.
