While it maybe slightly more nip-tuck with the senior XIs, Celtic’s total dominance of the SPL Reserve League was confirmed once again this week as the Bhoys were crowned champions for the eighth time in a row with a narrow win over Old Firm rivals Rangers at Ibrox.
The only goal of the match came twenty minutes from time, a well-taken volley from Simon Ferry from Conroy’s deep cross proved to be the difference between the sides.
Receiving all the plaudits however was Celtic’s Northern Irish winger Paddy McCourt. The 25-year-old, signed from Derry City last summer, has been restricted in the number of chances Gordon Strachan has given him in the first team this season. However, after receiving rave reviews in the reserves all-season, McCourt may feature more prominently in the senior squad next term.
