Carlo Ancelotti admits he & Real Madrid players deserve whistles from the fans after 4-3 loss

Real Madrid got past Schalke by the skin of their teeth in the Champions League last 16, winning 5-4 on aggregate after an awful performance at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Starting to come under heavy pressure, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press after the shock 4-3 loss on the night.

Having guided Real Madrid to Champions League glory last season, Ancelotti admitted he and the players deserve the whistles from the fans.

Los Blancos lost 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao in la Liga on the weekend and have failed to register a win in their last three outings.

“The whistles from fans are totally deserved. This is going to motivate us more, for the next game.” Said Ancelotti.

“It was above all mistakes in defence, we did not have good organisation.”

“At halftime we talked about how to fix the defensive aspect. No team have scored 4 goals against us at the Bernabeu.”

“We lacked confidence and also physically we have come down a bit.”

The well respected Italian coach claimed the idea of being dismissed is not on his mind, despite growing speculation.

“I do not think about [sack]. I keep doing my work, trying to do it better. I need to do better.”

“We have had problems, in all aspects of the game, attack and defence, fight, concentration, motivation. It was pretty clear.”

“I’m not thinking about my renewal. All I want to do is for us to play better.”

“We suffered a lot until the final minute, right until the end. The game did not go as we wanted. Anything could have happened.”

“Its incomprehensible the way in which we play right now to the way we were in December.”

Real Madrid host Levante in La Liga on Sunday before travelling to Barcelona for a crucial El Clasico, which Ancelotti touched upon during the post match press conference.

“Can we win at the Camp Nou? Everything can change very fast in football.”
