Cahill marks his return with the winner against Stoke; Championship round up

Stoke 2 – Everton 3 (Premier League, September 14, 2008) Goals either side of half-time from Nigerian internationals Yakubu and Victor Anichebe put the visitors ahead and seemingly in control. But two Rory Delap throw-ins set up Stoke’s revival, Seyi Olofinjana took advantage of a soft punch from Tim Howard before Phil Jagielka put through his own net in the 63rd minute. But just when Tony Pulis’s side thought they might be on course for a memorable victory, Tim Cahill marked his return to the Toffees with a header from eight yards.
