Brendan Rodgers insists Raheem Sterling will not be leaving Liverpool, amid Arsenal speculation [Video]

Brendan Rodgers came out in force today, insisting that Raheem Sterling will not be leaving Liverpool, amid speculation that Arsenal are planning to swoop in for the 20 year old.

Sterling’s decision not to sign a new deal at Liverpool – for the time being – has provoked a massive reaction, with many Liverpool fans feeling that it’s best to cash in on the youngster, if he no longer wants to be there.

But Rodgers insisted that the whole thing has been a misunderstanding, and reiterated that the young star still has 2 and a half years remaining on his current deal.

Rodgers played down the notion of Sterling defecting to Arsenal, essentially making the case that Sterling would be taking a step down were he to do that, and insisting that there’s no chance of Sterling leaving this summer.
