“Everyone was enjoying themselves. David had had a few drinks and was messing around. He spontaneously decided to put this song on and go for it. Middlesbrough fans love David because he is a real star of the future and is a local lad. But even the biggest Boro fan probably didn’t realise he was this good a mover. Centre-halves tend not to be known for their fancy footwork but David is obviously the exception.” – an “onlooker” as reported in The Sun.
Boro centre-half is better known for his large hooter than his dance skills, but all that may be about to change. Video footage has leaked out of the England U21 defender showing off his best dance moves to the Queen classic “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
Despite the slightly grainy quality of the pictures, Wheater can clearly being identified flaunting what must surely be a pre-determined routine complete with swinging hips, pelvic thrusts and other moves which will surely make him cringe once things go viral.
David Wheater’s dancing video can be seen here.
