When the World Cup ‘Group of Death’ was drawn, and Germany, Portugal, Ghana and the USA emerged together from the pot, the consensus was, and is, that it would be close, but that Germany and Portgual will be the ones to prevail.
Talksport pundit Stan Collymore made a big call on his show today, tipping Ghana to finish 2nd behind Germany, thereby pipping and eliminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
Collymore bizarrely uses Ghana’s ‘Starting XI’ as his prime reason, when Portugal undoubtedly have the superior starting XI, boasting the likes of Ronaldo, Nani, Joao Moutinho, and Pepe.
Does Stan make a strong case for Ghana over Portugal here? It seems a big call; indeed, most would probably see the US as posing the bigger threat to the ‘Big 2’.
