Mario Balotelli officially joined Liverpool late Monday afternoon in a £16m deal.
The ex-AC Milan and Manchester City striker will be given the almost impossible job of replacing free-scoring Luis Suarez.
Balotelli, known for his fiery disposition, will wear the number 45 shirt at Anfield this season and will look to form a partnership with another ego-maniac striker Daniel Sturridge.
Twitter exploded at the news of Brendan Rodgers new signing and some of the best tweets can be seen below.

It’s official. Balotelli signs for Liverpool. General feeling is it’s a risky buy but could be great value for money if Rodgers controls him

Not arsed if Balotelli drop kicks pensioners in his free time as long as he puts the ball in the red net

Since making his league debut for AC Milan in 2013, no player has scored more Serie A goals than Mario Balotelli (26) pic.twitter.com/q97RLm3lIg

Balotelli on LFC welcome: “I didn’t expect it…when I used to play against #LFC the fans weren’t nice to me. But that’s normal in football”

Balotelli signed on a three-year-deal, interesting. Usually four/five/six year deals with players like this.

Big up Balotelli being back in the prem, man is a baller. Although remember there are reasons why he was only £16million! #nutter

LFC replace a nutter (Suarez) with a lunatic (Balotelli) interesting to see how Rodgers replaces Gerrard, impossible task in my opinion.
