Arsenal were rumoured to be closing in on the loan signing of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
Tottenham were fighting their North London rivals for the loan signing but Portuguese side Benfica may have hijacked the deal.
According to Spanish TV channel El Chiringuito, Benfica are ready to part with €7m in order to sign the young Spanish striker.
With Benfica striker Rodrigo rumoured to be on the move to Zenit for €35m, Morata is seen as an ideal replacement.
Real Madrid would probably prefer to loan out their prodigy to either Arsenal or Spurs, but Morata may prefer a permanent move away.
