Epic Moment: Anto Flood (St Pats) hoists young pitch invader in the air after scoring title-clinching goal v Sligo (Irish Airtricity)

St Patrick’s Athletic of Dublin sealed the Airtricity Premier Division title for the first time since 1999 with a 2-0 win over Sligo Rovers at Richmond Park yesterday.

Anthony Flood’s goal just before half-time more or less clinched the title, giving Pats a 2-0 lead, and provoking bedlam inside the grouind.

A young fan, who could be no more than 10 years of age, jumped onto the pitch to celebrate with Flood, and was rewarded for his derring-do by being hoisted in the air like a trophy, for a picture and moment he’ll never forget!

(The first goal from Greg Bolger was a cracking golazo, worthy of any league title, on the second clip).

Picture and video below the fold.
