The usually happy-go-lucky Tartan Army have had to hang their heads in shame this week after Rangers pairing of Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor tarnished the good-Scottish name.
First the duo embarrassed the Scots by indulging in an all-night bender last weekend while on duty for the national team before making a bad situation worse after being caught on camera making a series of V-signs while on the bench during Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier with Iceland at Hampden.
Having returned to Ibrox yesterday the pair faced more bad news as their club refused to let their antics slip under the radar. Walter Smith rather chose to make an example out of the stars by suspending the duo for a fortnight, fining them both wages, and handing the ultimate slap-in-the-face to Ferguson by stripping him of the club captaincy.
