Barcelona will offer Victor Valdes a new deal if he can’t join another club this summer because of his knee injury
ARA.cat, a Spanish website based in Catalonia, has announced that Barcelona will offer Victor Valdes a new contract if he can’t join another club this summer because of his knee injury.
Valdes had long been expected to leave the Camp Nou this summer when his current deal with Barcelona expires, with the likes of Monaco and Manchester City having been heavily linked to the Spanish goalie in recent months.
Any best laid plans to acquire Valdes in the summer were torpedoed this week when the keeper tore ligaments in his knee which will keep the goalie out of action for at least six months.
Facing the real possibility of becoming an unaffiliated player whilst nursing the horror injury of his career, ARA now claim Barcelona will offer Valdes a new deal should no other offers come in for the 32-year-old stopper.
