Barcelona & Spain’s Jordi Alba tweets half-hearted apology for threatening to rip AS journalist’s head off

After his sensational Euro 2012, Jordi Alba had a 2014 World Cup to forget, which was only compouned by his poor behaviour after the Australia win yesterday, as Spain prepared to head home.

In the mixed zone, Alba inexplicably approached AS journalist and told him, ‘The next time I’ll rip your head off.’

Visibly and understandably shocked, the AS hack Javier Gómez Matallanas, told Spanish media later: ‘I have absolutely no idea where this came from. I can’t even recall writing anything about Alba.’

Alba’s subsequent apology, on Twitter, was vague half-assed to say the least:

‘…I’d like to apologize if there was any moment of unwanted tension…’
