The transfer news keeps swirling out of the Camp Nou in the aftermath of the lifting of the transfer ban on FC Barcelona.
The latest rumours spouted by the Spanish media are that Barcelona are interested in Bayern Munich’s Javi Martinez as well as Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and David Luiz. Arturo Vidal, the Juventus midfielder, is another option according to the rumour mill.
Breaking down each story, SPORT claim Javi Martinez is attractive for Barcelona as the Spaniard is no longer an integral member at Bayern Munich.
With his stock fallen, Barca believe they could buy Martinez on the cheap from Per Guardiola, while the versatile footballer could replace Alex Song in the Barca squad.
SPORT also link Barca with Chelsea’s Courtois, however the impression is that the paper don’t even believe any deal in that regards will materialise. The Catalans have already wrapped up signing Ter Stegen from Gladbach, so it’s dubious that a top class goalie like the Belgium #1 would opt for a move to the Camp Nou.
As for David Luiz and Arturo Vidal, SPORT say these are “two names which the club are trying hard to buy as they will strengthen the squad.”
