American international striker Aron Jóhannsson got Celtic fans pulses racing on Boxing Day with a Tweet indicating he is heading to Celtic Park.
23-year-old Jóhannsson, who was born in the United States but raised in Iceland, has reportedly been on Celtic’s radar for some time, and the striker raised hopes that he is about to become a Super Hoop with a Tweet on Thursday.
Jóhannsson posted the message “Just landed! #intresting” on Twitter, along with a picture of a luggage trolley at Glasgow airport.
Paper talk has previously listed the AZ Alkmaar forward available at £2.4m after the Dutch side signing the forward from Danish outfit AFG Aarhus for £800,000 at the start of the year.
The new season has been an amazing for Jóhannsson after he has scored 17 goals in 26 games for club and country.
