Luis Suarez’s wonder goal for Liverpool at Norwich, to complete his first ever hat-trick for the Merseyside giants, left us with a lot of questions to answer in the coming days.
Was the Uruguayan’s 50-yard lob the best goal this Premier League season? The other two main contenders are Liverpool and international team mate Sebastian Coates’ flying bicycle kick against QPR as well as Peter Crouch’s famous volley v Manchester City.
Did Luis Suarez score the best hat-trick of the Premier League era? The likes of Dennis Bergkamp at Leicester, Robbie Fowler’s lightning treble for Liverpool against Arsenal and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink demolishing Spurs would all have something to say about that.
Besides the questions above – please feel free to leave your thoughts below – it has to be pointed out that Luis Suarez’s third goal at Norwich was no fluke as he came to scoring an even longer range strike during his time at Ajax.
Just weeks before Suarez joined Liverpool from Ajax after a goal-laden spell in Amsterdam, Ajax drew 0-0 at home with great rivals PSV. Towards the end of the match Suarez tried to lob Andreas Issakson with a long ranger from his own half.
