Crewe Alexandra, struggling at the wrong end of the League One table, picked up a vital three points in their bid to beat the drop on Tuesday night turning over the MK Dons 2-0.
Gresty Road came alive ten minutes before the break when Arsenal loanee Chuks Aneke scored directly from a set play.
Faced with a free-kick just outside the Dons box, the 20-year-old Arsenal striker managed to curl his effort over the wall and high into the net. Question-marks will be asked, however, of the positioning and handling of visiting keeper David Martin in allowing the ball to enter his goal.
The Arsenal forward has now scored five League One goals in 22 appearances this season.
