Arsenal set to be without 11 players for FA Cup semi-final v Wigan on Saturday

James Olley, the Evening Standard’s chief football correspondent, has come out with a list of the players expected to miss Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final with Wigan on Saturday.

And, it doesn’t make for pretty reading for worried Gooners desperate for silverware and mulling over Arsene Wenger’s sides poor form in recent weeks.

Some of Arsenal’s injured players were well known and are long term, e.g. Abou Diaby, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Nicklas Bendtner.

Others were more short term and there was/is hope they could be fit to play at Wembley, such as Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arguably the biggest player missing, with respect to how he has galvanised Arsenal at times, is Mathieu Flamini due to suspension.

Surely Arsenal can see off FA Cup holders and Championship side Wigan even without all these players?
