Another week, another kung-fu master

Another week, another kung fu masterSeveral weeks back we brought you video footage from South America of Sebastian Mendez’s flying kick into Falcao’s back during the meeting between River Plate and San Lonrenzo.

It now appears that Mendez has a rival in the stakes of being football’s kung-fu master, with Jiri Kladrubsky (pictured) from Sparta Prague putting his name up for selection.

Playing against FC Teplice in the Czech Gambrinus League, Kladrubsky also showed himself to be a student of the martial arts genre, delivering a spectacular flying kick on opposing striker Tomas Jun, almost knocking Jun’s head clean off, as the forward was making his way round the back of the defender attempting to connect with a header.

The twist in the tale however was that the referee, stood only few meters away, kept his whistle out of his mouth and allowed play to continue. That this was not a penalty is simply ludicrous.

A video of how the event unfolded in real time can be seen here, and a close up of Kladrubsky’s kick can be seen here.
