Brazilian TV cameras were out in full force last week as samba legend Zico opened a new football training centre, which was christened by a friendly match involving the great man himself and a whole hosts of other footballers.
The day threw up some brilliant clips for your enjoyment.
First up there was the “Margarida,” which can probably best be translated as a pansy referee. Wearing an eye-catching pink uniform, the match official managed to upstage the footballers somewhat with some bizarre body movements.
The comic Margarida can be seen here.
Zico, though, wasn’t to be upstaged for long. Despite being 58-years-old, the attacking midfielder showed why his is still revered as a living footballing legend scoring a wonder-goal in the contest with a sweetly struck effort that curled into the top corner.
Zico’s golazo can be seen here.
Finally, longer highlights of the day’s events including extended footage of the friendly match can be seen here.
