Alexandre Pato makes a racist Chinese gesture during Milan’s celebrations

Alexandre Pato acted like a brain-dead monkey during AC Milan’s Super Cup celebrations on Saturday.

Although Serie A is still weeks away from commencing, the golbalisation of football claimed another victim this weekend as AC Milan played Inter Milan in Beijing. Rather than play the usual Italian curtain-raiser in front of their own fans, the Italians flew all the way to the Bird’s Net, where 80,000 screaming Chinese fans awaited them.

The match turned out to be something of a thriller. Inter looked in firm control at the break courtesy of Sneijder’s terrific free-kick, but goals from Zlatan and Kevin Prince Boateng turned the contest in the second period.

Perhaps punch-drunk with success in a non-important warm-up match, Alexandre Pato commented a terrible faux pas in the trophy celebrations after the game.

Like a racist, moments after stepping off the winners podium Pato played the fool with a slitty-eyed Chinese gesture.

It wasn’t funny, and it surely offended plenty of Asian onlookers.
