This is one of the strangest reactions to a goal you’ll see this season.
Sunday in Spain’s second division saw Toledo beat Rayo Vallecano II, and the match had a climactic finish as David Sanz netted a 91st minute winner for the hosts with a header from a corner.
After claiming their 2-1 win, a truly weird event happened.
Toledo’s Roberto Encinas, standing close to the referee, expressed his joy on seeing his teammate score by turning to the referee and landing a kiss on his cheek. The referee instinctively reacted to the embrace by lifting his arms in a what are you doing moment!, however no other action was taken by the man in black to the affectionate Toledo forward.
