Istanbul Buyuksehir won 4-2 at Samsunspor on Sunday in Turkey, but long before the away win was cemented the visitors were left cursing an incredible miss for forward Pierre Webo.

Webo, the 30-year-old Cameroonian striker who has played for Osasuna and Mallorca, looked certain to score in the 36th minute when he was faced with a gaping goal.

The chance was conjured up after a neat ball over the top allowed Webo to roll his marker just outside the six yard box. Webo then showed his class with a quality sombrero over the goalie that left him one-on-one with the empty net.

But, like a plonker, Webo couldn’t get his feet working once he’d done all the hard work and the golden opportunity went amiss.
