First off it is not for the squeamish. Secondly, we take no pleasure in putting these videos on the site, this looks like a really shocking injury and you have to feel for Swedish left back Fredrik Stenman.

The injury took place just before the half-time whistle of Club Brugge’s 2-1 home win over Kortrijk on Sunday with no other player anywhere near Stenman.

Already the pitch at the Jan Breydel stadium has come in for some fierce criticism and early reports suggest Stenman has snapped his Achilles tendon.

This does not explain the blood that seeps from his knee immediately and it would be no surprise should the 28-year-old have suffered more than just one injury.
