His debut was a Dream. Tal Ben Haim A brilliant solo goal you won’t have seen: Tal Ben Haim (Maccabi Petah Tikva, not the Pompey defender!) v Hapoel Rishon LezionFirst thing to point out about this goal is that there are two Tal Ben Haim’s in Israeli football. This goal, scored on Saturday, was the opener in a 2-2 draw in the Ligat Ha’Al, the top flight in Israel.

This TBH, is a highly rated 22-year-old attacker who can play on the wing or up front and has long been billed as a future star. Six goals in 19 appearances this season also suggest he could well be a star of the future.

Ben Haim picked up the ball on the edge of his own box, ran from deep past one opponent, skinned another defender, before producing a delightful chip that gave the keeper absolutely no chance.

Difficult to imagine the original Tal Ben Haim, currently defending poorly at Portsmouth, scoring a goal like this!
