A brilliant solo goal you won’t have seen: Tal Ben Haim (Maccabi Petah Tikva, not the Pompey defender!) v Hapoel Rishon Lezion
- January 17, 2012
First thing to point out about this goal is that there are two Tal Ben Haim’s in Israeli football. This goal, scored on Saturday, was the opener in a 2-2 draw in the Ligat Ha’Al, the top flight in Israel.
This TBH, is a highly rated 22-year-old attacker who can play on the wing or up front and has long been billed as a future star. Six goals in 19 appearances this season also suggest he could well be a star of the future.
Ben Haim picked up the ball on the edge of his own box, ran from deep past one opponent, skinned another defender, before producing a delightful chip that gave the keeper absolutely no chance.
Difficult to imagine the original Tal Ben Haim, currently defending poorly at Portsmouth, scoring a goal like this!
