He may have chalked up just nine first team appearances since joining Celtic back in 2008 from Barcelona, but 21-year-old Spanish footballer Mark Crosas propelled himself back into the spotlight at Celtic Park with a screamer against Hearts’ reserves on Tuesday night.
Crosas’ moment of magic arrived just after the half-hour mark. A left wing delivery from Ryan Conroy was headed clear to the edge of the box, as the Hearts backline looked to repel another Celtic surge forward. But what happened next was a combination of exquisite technique and perfect timing as Crosas crashed home the opener from 25-yards out.
Picking up the loose header outside the box, Crosas seemed to absorb ninja powers as the midfielder delivered a instinctive kung-fu-esque first-time shot. And after hitting the sweet spot, he sat back as his effort rifled into the top corner.
Celtic wrapped up the win with a second from Ben Hutchinson.
