A fabulous goal to bring from the Mexican second division from Sunday night.
Round three of the Liga de Ascenso saw early pace-setter Leon play host to Merida, with the hosts winning the match 2-nil to hand them seven points and a third-place berth from the opening few weeks of the season.
It only took Leon six minutes to take the lead, and they did so courtesy of Luis Orozco’s amazing lob from just inside his opponents half.
Both sides tried to control a bouncing ball by the halfway line, as Orozco eventually muscled his opponent out of possession as the ball bounced up off the turf, begging to be leathered. Not one to pass up the opportunity, Orozco preceded to welly a fantastic half-volley and his shot looped high into the night’s sky and dropped agonisingly over the keeper’s outstretched hands and into the net.
Luis Orozco’s incredible 40-yard lob can be seen here.
