A Barcelona employee has been sacked for a racist monkey gesture during Llagostera v Racing Santander

FC Barcelona have sacked one of their employees for her racist behaviour over the weekend.

Racism in Spanish football is back on the agenda after a deplorable incident during the Segunda B play-off game Llagostera and Racing Santander on Sunday.

During the match a female supporter, surrounded by kids, made a monkey gesture towards Racing player Mamadou Kone.

The incident become on online firestorm, and within days the women has been identified and turned into police.

In a surprise, sad twist, the racist has been outed to be a ticket-office employee at Barcelona’s official museum. Of course, Barcelona have just suffered their own racist incident when Dani Alves had a banana thrown at him during a match at Villarreal.

According to Cadena SER, the individual in question has been sacked from her position at Barcelona and been handed a lifetime ban from Llagostera’s home matches.
