70-yards & in: Kosuke Kimura (Colorado Rapids) v New England Revolution

“Anything counts. A goal’s a goal, it’s crazy, I never did that before.” – Kosuke Kimura.

The MLS has seen some incredible goals this season and whilst this goal owes a large amount to a major error from New England keeper Matt Reis, it is still worth a watch.

Ten minutes remained in the Colorado Rapids-New England Revolution encounter when Kimura hit a speculative punt forward.

The ball beat everyone, including Reis who made a vein attempt at stopping the ball and nestled into the back of the net. Thankfully for the New England keeper a late Shalrie Joseph penalty saved his blushes and left the score at 2-2.

After the game New England coach Steve Nicol blamed the freak goal on the altitude in Colorado which is 5,280 feet above sea level.
