We’ve seen this before.. Cristiano was involved with a ball-boy altercation at the beginning of last season. In this instance, Ronaldo “pretended” to throw a ball into a ball-boys face, only he didn’t release the ball (luckily too).
On this occasion though the ball-boy has come out on top.
With Real Madrid chasing a goal at this point, Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate to get the ball back and instigate a Real Madrid fightback. The ball-boy clearly has other ideas though.
The Madrid derby was a feisty encounter (as usual). Real took an early lead through Karim Benzema. Atletico Madrid replied through Koke, the Spanish midfielder hit a great finish across goal with Diego Lopez clutching at air. Then, a wonder-goal separated the sides minutes before half time. Atletico captain, Gabi, picked the ball up 30 yards from goal and released a pile-driver past Diego Lopez. In fairness, the keeper could have done slightly better – even if he was a little unsighted.
Although of course, Cristiano had the last laugh, scoring the equaliser ten minutes from time to end the game in a draw.
This all meaning Real stayed top of the league, by one point. With Atletico Madrid in third place – three points away from top spot.
