Step forward the gloriously named Taison, who notched a wonder volley for Metalist in their win over Rosenborg.
Immediately, and it isn’t hard to see why, the Taison strike was compared to Marco van Basten’s glorious goal for Holland in the 1988 European Championship final against the USSR.

Jermain Defoe restored the lead for Tottenham with a clinical left-footed finish. Jermain Defoe completed his hat-trick after more fantastic wing play from Gareth Bale.
Club Brugge 2 – Newcastle 2 (Europa League, November 8, 2012) (Alternative highlights & alternative highlights 2.) Ivan Trickovski and Jesper Jorgensen put the Belgians two up within 19 minutes. Vernun Anita pulled one back for Newcastle with a brilliant strike. Shola Ameobi then equalised for the Geordies.
Marseille 2 – Moenchengladbach 2 (Europa League, Novemeber 8,2012) Mike Hanke put the Germans ahead in the first half. Joey Barton equalised in sensational style directly from the corner. Minutes later Jordan Ayew completed the turnaround with a lovely finish. Juan Arango pulled it level late in stoppage time for Moenchengladbach.
Partizan Belgrade 1 – Inter Milan 3 (Europa League, November 8, 2012) Rodrigo Palacio opened the scoring in the second half with his chest from close range. Rodrigo Palacio grabbed a second with a well taken finish into the bottom corner. Freddy Guarin added a third late on before Partizan scored a consolation goal through Nemanja Tomic.
