Close-ups of Torres’ and Babel’s injuries

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Liverpool are set to suffer from Fernando Torres’ absence for up to two weeks, after the striker was forced off after just 16 minutes during Spain’s 2-1 win over Belgium last night. The incident had the hallmarks of being serious at the moment of impact, Torres pulling up when he was on the move, under no pressure from any tackles at the time.

Following the match, Torres’ discomfort was evident as the striker walked gingerly out of the ground.

See the Torres’ injury and post-match video evidence here.

The Reds will be further rocked by the news that Ryan Babel is another injury doubt after he was caught on the ankle by Morten Gamst Pederson in Holland’s 1-0 win in Norway.

Footage of Babel’s injury can be seen here.
