This week’s amazing fluke goal comes from the Brazilian second division match between Avia and Parana from Friday night. Avia’s goalie Eduardo Martini collected the ball in his box, launched his kick directly up the other end, and the ball embarrassingly bounced over his opposite number. See the goal here.
But the wonderfully named Martini wasn’t the only player to score a monster goal this weekend. Check out goal number 8 (pictured).
1. Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi (v Belgium, Aug. 19, 2008)
2. Julio Cesar Leon (v Mexico, Aug. 20, 2008) (first goal)
3. Pavel Pardo (v Honduras, Aug. 20, 2008)
4. Henrik Larsson (v France, Aug. 20, 2008)
5. Marek Jankulovski (v England, Aug. 20, 2008)
6. Angel Di Maria (v Nigeria, Aug. 23, 2008)
7. Serhiy Kravchenko (v Shakhtar Donetsk, Aug. 23, 2008)
8. Avi Strul (v Tubize, Aug. 23, 2008) (1.20 min into the video)
9. Deco (v Wigan, Aug. 24, 2008)
10. Selcuk Inan (v Ankaraspor, Aug. 24, 2008) (first goal on the video)
Narrowly missing this week’s cut are goals from Robin van Persie, Stanislaw Wrobel, Kuba Blaszczykowski, Kaid Mohamed, Mido, Ruben de la Red, Daniele De Rossi and the Hulk.

No Gerrard?

The pictured player is Omer Golan, not Avi Strul, who scored from half field goal #8. Both are Israeli internationals playing for Lokeren.

Thanks Israel for the heads up. The change has been made.

Gerrard’s goal to win the game was classic. Must have been a phenomenal week for it to be left off.

Gad, you know-it-all kid, when I made the post it was Omer Golan wearing the national team\\\’s shirt. Arthur Antunes Coimbra then replaced the picture after my post.
