Sky’s Sunday Supplement

The pundits on the Sunday Supplement panel kicked off the show looking forward to the Champions League final and in particular analysed the future for Chelsea boss Avram Grant. Oliver Holt labelled any calls for sacking the Israeli as “crazy,” while Joe Lovejoy agreed that any firing would be foolhardy but believes change will happen anyway.

Next on the agenda was a discussion of the forecast for next season. Joe Lovejoy picks on Liverpool as the big disappointment of the league, and suggests that Gerrard should jump ship. Oliver Holt wants Tottenham, Man City and Portsmouth to kick-on next season plus calls for money to filter down to the lower leagues to help them in their survival. Martin Samuel talked about Arsenal, and bemoans the Gunners’ loss of their best players, particularly Flamini and Hleb.

In the final extended segment, Martin Samuel reviewed the FA Cup final and heaped praise on Portsmouth and Harry Redknapp. Joe Lovejoy sums up Harry Redknapp as a “good bloke.” Oliver Halt applauded the spirit in which yesterday’s final was played out.

i think it is ridiculous to say hleb was one of arsenal best players… i think he has been the epitomy of arsenal no product in the end third, i personally wont be sad to see the back of him should he leave. especially if the rumours of samir nasri are to be believed…
