Is Cristiano Ronaldo just “faked up hype?”

YouTuber “unknowngenius3″ is not a Cristiano Ronaldo fan. To prove his point that “Sky Sports overrate and hype Cristiano Ronaldo up with bullsh*t videos that are fake and not true,” unknowngenius3 has compiled a video which he believes displays his point.

According to the YouTuber, “It’s all faked up hype. They are using commentary from goals scored by: Didier Drogba Vs Everton, Wayne Rooney Vs Newcastle, Thierry Henry Vs Manchester United. They are using commentary from those matches to hype up this overrated diving disgrace!”

See the video evidence here.

Who the hell cares where the commentary came from. Its his stats not the commentators which determine what a great player he is. 40 goals is utterly unbelievable. Maybe he is hyped up a lot, but the hype is all genuine. He deserves all those accolades said by those commentators, regardless of whether they were actually said in relation to him.

That video is ridiculous. I’m sure no one has ever said “oh look at that” or “absolutely brilliant” any time other than those goals that the youtuber found. What a sad existence. Find something better to do with your time. Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now. You can’t argue that.

I can\’t argue with his goals and form of late. Purely for statistical reasons, he should definitely receive FIFA\’s player of the year award. There hasn\’t been any competition from other great players this year though, but even then, Ronaldo\’s form has been amazing.

That said, I agree with the elderly gentlemen in their criticism. They all don\’t deny that he is a good footballer at the moment, maybe the best, but his football career will always be marred for the fact that he is a whiny pussy and a cheat.

There is a big difference with Kaka scooping last year\’s player of the year award, for instance. He doesn\’t dive. He doesn\’t complain to the referee. He plays his football and almost never loses his composure. This is the big difference, and therefore I believe Ronaldo will never be a great football player.

It’s a real wonder that this genius remains unknown, isn’t it? Just look at the guy’s command of the English language(!)

Honestly, I think (or thought) that this website would be above bringing publicity to the kind of video which would attribute all the well-deserved admiration of the man (let’s forget his downsides for just a moment) to the sexual fantasies of young girls and homosexual men.

I don\’t like Sky for all their hype, not just about their idolatry of anyone who scores lots of goals. Sky are all about the money, they don\’t care about the purity of the game, so they just follow hype and trends. To a lesser degree the BBC and itv are the same, the pundits and commentators all follow the letter of the law, but not the spirit of the law, and sometimes they even encourage cheating.

“therefore I believe Ronaldo will never be a great football player.”….. - With people like “Jan” (above) and “unknowngenius3″ running around, at least we know the world will never be short of idiots. Show me any club team in world football that wouldn’t want to sign Ronaldo and then tell me he is over-hyped.

    unknowngenius? more like unknown dumbass.

Hey Gaz, tell me I didnt write that Ronaldo should get the Player of the Year award. Or that Ronaldos form has been amazing. Learn to read and comprehend the meaning of my post.

Your argumentation that \’every club in world football\’ wants to sign Ronaldo is moot. There are many, many players which \’every club in world football\’ would want. Are they all great football players? No.

Ronaldo will be remembered for diving, just as (for example) Rivaldo\’s career is also marred for his antics despite his great football skill.

Ronaldo is a great goal scorer but a terrible player, but what would you expect from a Portuguese footballer? I have no respect from a player like him.

Haha bless those ridiculous young Irish chaps, the talkative one in particular.

-The main thing that made me comment here were the Irish analysts saying that he’s a flash player who’s a “brat”, who “has no personality” and that if he’s not careful he’ll turn into an overrated nobody (paraphrased) “like Totti”. Erm, like Francesco ‘I’m a top bloke who loves my city, country, and club; will never leave Roma and scored thirty-odd goals last season for them taking a below-par team into 2nd place after winning the World cup the year before’ Totti? Oh no, what a shame it would be if Ronaldo turned into that!

Surely what Sky have done with their video compilation is neither here nor there; we don’t need some commentator telling us the goal is ‘brilliant’ or Ronaldo’s ‘brilliant’: the fact that we’re watching brilliant action by the brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo should speak for itself. A picture’s worth a thousand words and all that… Perhaps “unknowngenius* was so busy listening that he forgot to watch his own footage.
P.S though if Ronaldo IS some Terminator hybrid then surely thats cheating?! :-)

    Does comentators are reallllllllyyyyyyy jealous!!!!!!!!!
Ronaldo is class lok at his stats, Messi is class but what ronaldo has done this season is magic. btw tht comentating was last season, I\’m sure their eating their words now.
About the youtube video let tht poor idiot hu made it feel stupid when he gets FIFA WORLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR im sure sky doesnt decide hu wins tht.

  15. Gaz Says:

Jan - So you acknowledge that Ronaldo should be voted Player of the Year and you acknowledge that his form has been “amazing”, yet you stand by your comment that he is not a great player?? …… Am I missing something here?? Let’s just be clear about this - Player of the Year awards aren’t thrown out “willy-nilly”. Some might say being a “great” player is part of the criteria…..

  16. jan Says:

Ah, so we differ in what we think is a great player — in my view a great player should not revert to cheating because he shouldn’t need to. If Ronaldo wasn’t a diver there would be no controversy about him, and obviously there is a lot of that.

If there was another footballer which showed the same goalscoring form as Ronaldo now, the awards would go to that person, no mistake about that.

  17. Jan-fan Says:

i second Jan\’s opinion… ronaldo is a good player but will never be great in football (cos of his antics), but he has a good shot at the Oscars ??
