Reiss Nelson still shines
One of the huge pluses from Arsenal’s pre-season was the emergence of Reiss Nelson.
There is almost always one youngster that does well in pre-season for Arsenal and often stars at the Emirates Cup.
This has been tradition ever since Arsene Wenger has been at the club and is testament to his ability to bring through players from the Gunners youth sides.
This summer that player was Nelson, who was deployed in a defensive role by Arsene Wenger, despite the fact he usually plays higher up the pitch.
Reiss Nelson stars v Derby U23
Last week Arsenal’s under-23s took on Derby.
The Gunners won the match 3-2 against the Rams.
Many tuned into the match to see Jack Wilshere compete in an Arsenal jersey once again.
But Wilshere was overshadowed by Reiss Nelson as he scored a double in the match.

Scores v Man City
On Monday night Arsenal U23’s beat Man City 4-3.
The big talking point from the game was Jack Wilshere’s red card.
Wilshere lost his head after a terrible foul from Man City’s Matt Smith.
However, the bright spark for the Gunners was 17-year-old Nelson.
He scored a wonderful solo goal in the win.
