Mario Melchiot, new pundit on the scene

Mario Melchiot has cut quite a dashing and authoritative presence on Sky this season, having joined their punditry team.

Being Dutch, Melchiot is a typically forthright and honest speaker, and he’s been a good addition to the punditry scene.

But Spurs fans probably weren’t too impressed with him today.

9 Chelsea players in combined XI

The Dutchman was asked to produce a combined Spurs-Chelsea XI ahead of tonight’s game, and he came up with a 9-2 team in Chelsea’s favour.

As a completely impartial writer with no allegiance to either team, Melchiot’s team seems largely fair, albeit it looks a bit biased at first glance.

With one or two exceptions (Eriksen for Moses), it’s hard to argue that any combined XI would be Chelsea-dominated.
