Liverpool legends, Man United signing
Norwegian John Arne Riise had a pretty successful career at Liverpool.
During his time at Anfield, Riise won the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup (twice) and the UEFA Champions League.
In the past few days the former Liverpool left-back has appeared on Malaysia’s Astro Sports.
He was asked to comment on new Man United signing Nemanja Matic, and Riise couldn’t help compare the Serb to a former Reds team mate.
Nemanja Matic comparison
Riise likened Man United new boy Matic to former team mate Dietmar Hamann.
The Norwegian argued that both players had/have expertise in doing the “dirty work”.

Why did Chelsea sell Matic?
After round one of the new Premier League season, many are still flabbergasted that Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic to Man United.
The Serb was one of Man United’s standout players as the beat West Ham 4-0 at Old Trafford.
Is the former Chelsea midfielder the final piece in the jigsaw for Jose Mourinho?
According to the Telegraph, Antonio Conte was the driving force behind the sale. The broadsheet reported that Conte believed Matic had seen his best days and had lost a little hunger and desire.
As for the Times on Tuesday, rather than suggesting Antonio Conte was behind the deal, the broadsheet pins the decision to sell Matic with the Blues board.
