One game, two goals: Dimitri Payet is off and running at West Ham United.
28-year-old French midfielder Payet gave Hammers fans a glimpse of his ability on Saturday, as the Irons won 3-2 at Southend in a friendly.
West Ham paid £10.7m to bring Payet to Upton Park from Marseille, and the striker scored a brace on his debut for his new employers.
Payet scored a stunning free kick past Daniel Bentley on debut to level the scores following Kevan Hurst’s opener.
He then added a second less than one minute later.
