Last season, Chelsea ended the title hopes of Tottenham Hotspur.
This season, Spurs have repaid the favour by ending the Blues’ hopes of a 14 match, record breaking winning streak.
Dele Alli was stunning, and the club were worthy winners. Now, manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about the game, and was thrilled with their ‘character’ and the fact they’re ‘fighting for big things’.
He focused on their win, rather than Chelsea’s failings, while being complimentary about the west London club, and seemed jubilant.
He said that the club now have to move on to the next game with the FA Cup now on the horizon, but it’s clear from his words that he feels the club have learnt from last season, and they needed the win against Chelsea for their ‘belief’.
In terms of the title race, Poch claimed they were in a ‘good position’ and they are ‘very happy’, despite there being a ‘long way’ until the end of the season.
